Our Curriculum

Premium International School (PIS) delivers a globally recognized American curriculum that empowers students to thrive in a complex, evolving world while being deeply rooted in the values and cultural identity of the United Arab Emirates. Our academic framework, serving students from Pre-KG to Grade 8, is grounded in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and California State Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics, and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science, providing a robust foundation in literacy, numeracy, and scientific inquiry.

Our curriculum is enhanced by the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) framework for Arabic, Islamic Studies, UAE Social Studies, and Moral Education ensuring that our students grow as principled citizens, anchored in national identity and moral values. As part of our long-term strategic goals, PIS is on track to obtain Cognia accreditation by its second year of operation, further validating the quality and international credibility of our educational standards.

Curriculum by Phase

Early Childhood (Pre-KG & KG)
Our Early Years program blends play-based learning with structured inquiry and exploration. Children learn through guided discovery, with an emphasis on literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and environmental awareness. Drawing from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and STEAM models, our classrooms nurture independence, creativity, and a joy for learning. Social-emotional development and language acquisition in English and Arabic are integrated to provide a bilingual, inclusive foundation.

Elementary School (Grades 1–5)
Elementary students experience a broad, balanced curriculum focusing on core academic subjects English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies—complemented by Arabic, Islamic Studies, Moral Education, Physical Education, Art, Music, and Digital Literacy. We emphasize STEAM education, project-based learning, and critical thinking while fostering collaboration, innovation, and ethical decision-making. Our teaching strategies encourage exploration, problem-solving, and resilience through personalized instruction and differentiated activities.

Middle School (Grades 6–8 by year 2 of operation)
In Middle School, students encounter more specialized content and increased academic rigor. The curriculum deepens students’ mastery of analytical reading, evidence-based writing, mathematical reasoning, and scientific thinking through NGSS-aligned inquiry. Students are introduced to early career pathways and global topics that connect their studies to real-world applications. They develop civic awareness and engage in discussions that strengthen their cultural identity, leadership skills, and global citizenship.

High School Expansion (Grades 9–12)
As part of our planned expansion, PIS will open Grades 9–12 with a strong academic program that includes core subjects, diverse electives, and Advanced Placement (AP) options to prepare students for top-tier universities and global success. The high school curriculum will focus on academic depth, college readiness, and leadership development within a culturally inclusive environment.

Holistic Features of Our Curriculum Our language development program emphasizes mastery in both English and Arabic, supporting academic success, cultural fluency, and multiliteracy. Technology is seamlessly integrated across all grades, with early exposure to AI and coding to enhance computational thinking and digital confidence.

Art education fosters creativity and emotional expression, while life skills education instills resilience, ethical decision-making, and interpersonal growth. Hands-on learning, skill-based enrichment, and inquiry-led activities prepare students for success in global assessments such as MAP, PISA, PIRLS, and TIMSS. Educational resources—including enriched readers, science kits, calligraphy materials, and supplementary practice books—ensure a well-rounded, modern, and student-centered learning experience.
